![]() ![]() Don't repeatedly tell people that you are actively working on a patch. ![]() I doesn't have to be frequent, but a brief conversation that shows that you look at the forums at least once a month to discuss people's suggestions makes people happy Don't complain in forums about real life taking priority over game development (this is your job after all) Don't create DLC while Rogue Legacy 2 is in development. Don't create another game while Rogue Legacy 2 is in Early Access development Similar to what OatBran said, whatever you decide is fine with me, Rogue Legacy 2 will be awesome.Īdvice for going EA route: (Note: All of the below atrocities are about other companies and not Rogue Legacy developers) Your fanbase knows that you have successfuly completed a game and trust that you can do it a second time. People tend to get pissed at companies that take people's money and don't deliver. There are many games in EA or kickstarter that could be completely awesome, but fans have never heard a word from the developers in forum, from patch updates, or anywhere, in over 4 years. They didn't release a patch on time, but hearing a determination to get a small amount of update within a certain amount of time and a brief explaination as well as a change to the countdown timer if it didn't look like it would be released on time made many happy with that game developers progress in EA. I don't want to name other games, but there was a game that did a 2 week countdown for every patch. If you do go the EA route, make sure that you have frequent and small patch updates. The hate for EA is mostly due to the fact that many companies let a game sit in Early Access for years with no patch updates. I think they should put Rogue Legac 2 on Early Access. ![]()
